|What You Guys Need Is A Lawyer!|
Selecting The Games System
Some games market themselves as being simple, and free-format, based on a single, universal task resolution system. Avoid these. Simplicity and clarity are the rules lawyer's enemy. Rules lawyering a "simple" system usually degenerates into a war of attrition, with long drawn out battles over points of plausibility.
You need a system that is:
Full of optional rules.
Uses tables. (Lots of tables).
Uses character classes, with different rules for different classes.
Incorporates lots of extra supplements, all full of extra rules.
There are a couple of obvious systems that I could recommend here, but I won't for fear of legal action.
