Simian: The Swinging

The life of the Simians is not an easy one. They face many dangers. Always working to elude discovery. Wearing pants, shoes, and even bow-ties, just to keep yourself from being found out. Always ready to swing away on a convenient lamp-post or low-hanging branch, in case you're discovered. Fearing the consequences being caught: from being shipped back home to the jungle hundreds of miles away, to being put on display inside a locked cage for children to laugh at, to even being sold to the shadowy Magniped corporation for scientific experimentation. And always, always working to acquire bananas to feed the Hunger.

Some Simians work alone, but you'll probably want your character to be part of a Band. Each member of a Band relies on all the others for support, and it helps to have complementary skills so that everyone has their purpose. Different Simians use different methods to acquire bananas: some work side by side with men at their nine to five jobs. Some have infiltrated the entertainment industry or politics, and use their power to help other Simians. Others just run up to fruit stands, grab an armful of bananas, and run away. But all must answer the Hunger.

Discovery and Hunger are not the only dangers facing the Simian in today's world. According to legend, there is another race of primate out there: different from the clans, different from Man. Their goal is to remain hidden forever, to live unknown to anyone. But their fear is that, if the Rift between Man and Simian is ever closed - if humans are ever returned to the Swinging - that they, too, will be sought out and forced back into Simian society.

Some call these strangers "yeti", "sasquatch", or "bigfoot". Some think they're extinct, and others don't even believe they ever existed. But if they do exist, they are the greatest threat to the Swinging, and will do anything in their power to drive the Rift further apart.
