This issue we're interested in two totally separate gaming-related issues.

The first is about snacking while gaming. When I first started roleplaying, we tended to do long sessions on a Saturday afternoon, so we all bought snacks to keep us going. In the end it became a kindof automatic thing - I bought dice and snacks to any roleplaying session.

Now though, one of my regular sessions is at my place on Thursday evenings, from around 7:30-8 to 10:30 to 11. I have my usual evening meal just before the guys come round, so there should be no need to eat any snacks.

But I find that I now have some kind of Pavlovian response. My body expects food whilst roleplaying. In fact, within about ten minutes of starting play I'm usually experiencing hunger pangs, and having to head off to the kitchen in search of sustenance. (The other guys don't seem to get so hungry, but this could be because I subscribe to the Alan Titchmarsh {http://www.alantitchmarsh.com/} theory of carpet maintenance - lay a good layer of organic material down and leave it to mulch).

Anyhow, my first question is:

Does participating in a roleplaying session make you hungry?

Yes, I automatically get the munchies.

No..? What's wrong with you? I bet you're really fat!

My second set of questions relates to the issue of GURPS rulebooks. Now I basically don't like GURPS. It's a fine system, but it's just way too detailed for me. I like something more freewheeling. But despite the fact that I don't like GURPS, and have probably only played it twice in my entire life, I've somehow managed to accumulate 23 GURPS rulebooks plus a boxed basic set. There's just something very buyable about GURPS books.

So firstly, what is your opinion of GURPS?

I like GURPS a lot. It would be my choice of system for both playing and GMing.

GURPS is okay, but I wouldn't rave about it.

I don't like GURPS. I wouldn't be keen to play it, and I certainly wouldn't want to GM it.

And secondly, how many GURPS rulebooks do you own?

None, zip, nada
