Lost In Cyberspace

Why Can't Everyone Visit Cyberspace? There always seems to be an assumption that the only character who can visit cyberspace is the decker, just as in fantasy games the only person who can cast spells is the wizard. But that shouldn't be the case. Cyberspace will be a vital part of future life. Saying that non-decker characters can't visit it, would be like saying that only Knight characters are allowed to ride horses in a fantasy campaign. Pretty well all characters should be able to visit cyberspace to perform such mundane tasks as shopping, simple research or just having fun - just as with today's Internet. In fact you could add a new disadvantage - Computer Illiteracy - for those unfortunates who don't know how to operate a simple cyberspace terminal. In other words, if your cyberpunk character just wants to get on the net to see what information is publicly held about a multinational company, you should be able to do it yourself. You shouldn't need to wait for the decker to do it.
