Professor Nexus,

We at Archangel Studios believe the research you're undertaking is very important -- though to whom we couldn't say :)

The market can support a variety of playing styles, evidenced by the various character generation methods in the 3rd Ed sourcebooks, suitable for low-, normal- and high-powered campaigns (and even labelled as such).

To the extent WOTC envisioned a system to satisfy a diversity of gaming needs, it seems reasonable that modules should as well. That said, we see the existence of overly generous scenarios as a natural and healthy evolution of the D20 system.

That, or the lack of quality writers and editors.

Regardless, miserly GMs need not worry: there will always be stingy adventures for them to offer their players.

We're curious if you've done any research on the subject of quality versus quantity, and if the explosion of D20 product must inexorably mean a rise in the overall "suckage factor". If so, we apologize for whatever share of this increasing suckage is our fault.

Regards,
